Posted some new photos today, sent by friends. Am working more on it every day. The Scott Bracher Bar is coming along nicely in our house. I'll send photos soon. Everyone loves to visit the bar and see photos of Scott in black and white.

Matt and I have collected donations, and will be sending a check in Scott's honor to Navy Relief. Many of those who donated came from Lockheed Martin (and its subcontrators), and never even knew Scott, but were touched by his service to America and his great friendships.

Wow! Thank you Matt and to the guys! All of you have been so amazing!!

You know, reading the email message from Kara (forwarded to us by Liz Brady)about the fly-by on Saturday reminds me of when I went with Pete to the Army-Navy game in December of 1997, and met Scott and his family for the first time - we had such a good time! How nice that they are doing this tribute to him, and that his good friend Dave will be flying the plane - very special indeed. Saturday happens to be Pete's birthday, and I think it is so nice that this fly-by is taking place on the same day!

Dave, thank you for being part of the Army-Navy fly over today. Days like today is what it is all about. You are doing this for Scott and we are on board with you. You are an extension of all of us and what we wish we could do for Scott.

We are all thinking about Scottie today and that helps me feel a bit less remote out here in Europe.
Thank you again Dave.

Maybe we could all post our favorite memory on the 27th, might be a cool way to remember him on his birthday. I know it might be a hard day for some but might be good to have some good stories or memories that day as well.

When any of you come to visit, you must see the quilt that Tara made...she sewed all Scott's favorite Teeshirts into a beautiful quilt...queensized! It's wonderful to wrap yourself in it...hugging Scott. It took a lot of hours of tears to get it done. THANK YOU Tara!!!

thank you to all who made it down to Malverne today to salute Scott. Thanks to all who were part of it and organized it. You all know as well as I do that Scottie deserves it and I thank you for being part.

To Scott's family,

The tree planting ceremony in Malverne was lovely, and it was a beautiful day with bright sunshine, which was so appropriate for Scott - his smile always seemed to be so bright! My husband Peter and I were honored to be part of the Arbor Day dedication. We visit the Malverne Deli almost every weekend, and we will now stop at the tree to see how it is growing!

Greg, Todd and I wish to thank the Village of Malverne, Sue and Joe Hennessy, and all the friends, neighbors and relatives who attended the Arbor Day ceremony celebrating our blue angel, Scott.
He would probably ask what all the fuss is about...that was the way he was...but, I am sure he would be smiling, overwhelmed with love and gratitude that so many cared and came.
Your love and caring give us strength. God bless all of you. Please remember his squadron in your prayers. May they return home safely.

A Prayer for Your Birthday
December 27

May you always walk in sunshine,
May God's love around you flow.
For the happiness you gave us,
No one will ever know.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
A part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

Your life was love and labor,
Love for friends and family true.
You did your best for all of us,
We will always remember you.

When Scott instructed at NAS Pensacola, his office was next door to the Blue Angels. We were so impressed. Scott just chalked it up to another day at the office and just another group of guys who loved flying planes.
We lost Scott, Sept. 21, 2005, just when LCDR Kevin Davis joined the Blue Angels team. April 21, we mourn for Kevin and hold our hearts out to his family.

Dear Scott,

God decided he needed you
So from this world you left.
You took a piece of all of us,
Our hearts are what you kept.

Your seat is so empty
And it's hard not to see your face,
But please always know this...
No one will ever take your place.

Your smile could brighten
anyone's day
No matter what they were going through
And we know for the rest of our lives...
We'll be missing you.

Two years...September 21

You were nudging me since last Thursday....the head has been cut off the snake and Bin Laden is DEAD! Thanks to our brave military men and women, just like you. I know you are proud of them.
Always, missing you, love, mom.

So a fun night to see Medium Sharon Renae was a shock when she asked the attending group, who was there for a military person....not an older one...she asked regarding one who was 35 or younger. It left only me.....out of 60 people in the room.
She said you were fine and very handsome....your head was ok....and that I was a very good mother. She knocked us all off our chairs when she asked what a creek had to do with anything. I told my friends earlier at dinner that Erin told me she saw koala bears at Scott's Creek....during a day she thought so much about you. That's the creek!
Francis, Frank, grandpa was there. Who uses their middle name instead of their first name....Aunt Isaura was there! And, someone with a J...June Saladino. You are in good company and are well taken care of.
You were holding up big coins...just like the ones Uncle Rick showed me when I went to see him last week. Thank you for the beautiful Pilot Wings clouds when Ski took me sailing. Always missing you.

Today is your 40th Birthday.....the red camellias at The Cottage bloomed a full month early to celebrate! I hope you enjoy the ones I brought you.
Thank you for the Navy kite hello you gave to Todd in Minnesota.
Never forgetting....always loving and remembering everything about you.

Happy 41st Birthday....it was only yesterday.
Miss you...always think about you and know you are always near.
Erin heard "September" and got your message when she needed comfort about her mom.

Stay close....love you.....mom & dad

You were born five minutes before midnight...it's a little past midnight so it says the 28th.

Mom said...

Scottie.....Happy 42nd Birthday!
Always, you are in our thoughts!
Fun when you and Todd tried on your flight gear when we were in Texas visiting you when you earned your wings.
Remember how we laughed when we watched pilots swagger from their planes to the hangars. It's not swagger you exclaimed, it's hard walking with all that gear hanging on us! We are just trying to move!
Miss your hearty laugh. You took us on a wonderful life journey.

Trying to reconnect with Mrs. B, Todd or anyone from the Bracher family. This is Jeffrey Clark, Scott's roommate from USNA. Drop me a note at holycrackerbox@gmail.com?
